About:


Hi, I'm Helen Underwood, Founder of Underwood Training.


I'm passionate about empowering people with the confidence, knowledge and practical skills to step forward in an emergency because simple skills really do save lives.


As a former NHS physiotherapist, I've spent the last 20 years delivering engaging, evidence-based first aid training to businesses and organisations across Yorkshire, helping more than 20,000 people gain the confidence to act when it matters most.


Every organisation is different, so every course is tailored to the people attending, the environment they work in and the risks they may face. Whether that's First Aid at Work, First Aid for Mental Health, Outdoor Incident Management or Life-Threatening Bleeding Control, my aim is always to make first aid practical, memorable and relevant.


My support doesn't end when the course finishes. Clients receive high-quality training materials and ongoing resources, together with practical advice on first aid kits and AED consumables. I'm also available afterwards to support anyone who has had to administer first aid and to offer guidance whenever it's needed.

3) Running Dax Air Limited for the last 39 years and always being an advocate for 1st aid training I have used multiple providers over the years.


I met Helen in the early 2000s through Kayaking and Climbing and I liked the way she comported herself, especially when situations on the river or crag had the potential to go sideways.


When she set up Underwood Training I went for the 3-day First Aid at Work course. My current qualification was still valid but I wanted to personally make sure the level of training was up to scratch.


21 years later I re-validated my 1st aid at work again a few weeks ago and for the last 21 years I have cycled all of my staff through Underwood Training for Emergency First Aid at Work and their re-validations.


Unfortunately due to our respective work commitments I only see Helen for a couple of days every 3 years for my re-validation but whilst ever Underwood Training exists and I'm sat at the helm of Dax Air they will be our providers for all things 1st aid related.


This isn't because of our friendship, I keep friends and Business separate, it is because myself and my staff have received the best I have ever had from Underwood Training.
